Notes 1 This interpretation comes from a note in volume X of The History of Middle-earth, where the names Námo and Irmo are followed by a note: 'Judgement (of what is) Desire (of what should be or might be)'. In Irmo's case, the name seems to be connected to the Quenya word íre, 'desire'. See also...
