It came to an end with the death of Longo's grandson Lotho in the War of the Ring. Notes 1 The Baggins family was generally associated with Hobbiton, but it's not entirely clear whether the Sackville-Baggins branch in particular had originally lived there. We do, however, have a hint among the reasons suggested for Frodo's moving away from Hobbiton to Buckland. One rumoured reason was to move as far from the Sackville-Bagginses as he could, which implies that they lived relatively close to Bag End. As a result of Frodo's move, Bag End became the property of Lobelia Sackville-Baggins and her son Lotho, so we can at least place the Sackville-Bagginses in Hobbiton from the year III 3018.
