Its Elvish name was Amon Ethir (which is translated 'Hill of Spies' in The Silmarillion, but 'Spyhill' in the Narn i Chîn Húrin). After Nargothrond's fall, it was here that Niënor was ensnared by the Dragon Glaurung, and all memory of her previous life was lost. See also...
