Words of TreebeardThe Two Towers III 4_Treebeard_ A poetic name given to his own Forest of Fangorn by the ancient Ent Treebeard. The name is constructed from three Elvish elements, conjoined in Ent-fashion to create a single long word: taurë 'forest', morna 'black' and lómë 'twilight', hence the entire name translates as something like 'black forest under twilight'. Treebeard also used a shortened version of the same name, Tauremorna, meaning simply 'black forest'.
