Notes 1 We know that at least some of the Wolves ridden by the Wolfriders were the intelligent kind known as Wargs, who consented to be ridden by Orcs while raiding. This was typical among the Orcs of the Mountains, but it is unclear whether Wolfriders rode full Wargs in all cases. It seems at least plausible that large ordinary Wolves would sometimes be used.
