Dear Father Dimiitry,
With affection and great joy I great you on the occasion of tha celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of your ordination to the holy priesthood. Your fifty years of pastorate is the fruit of much labor and sacrifice. You have worked long and hard for the upbuilding of many distinct parish communities. Through your scholarship and writings, you have made the Orthodox faith known. This commitment surely represents devotion to God and His Holy Church.
The priest's life is one of sacrifice. But, we are reminded week after week at the Liturgy in all Orthodox Communities, that before there can be an epiclesis, before the Holy Spirit can descend "upon us and upon this gifts," before we can receive the "grace upon grace" poured out by God, there must be a sacrifice. And the only an offering and sacritice that is acceptable and that yields God's Presence is Christ's. Through Liturgy, Christ's offering is given to us as our own. Our vocation as apostles and disciples of Christ is to make His offering our own that we may truly become the "first fruits of the resurrectioni."

May God grant you many more fruitful years ot service for the upbuilding ot Christ's Holy Church.
