Named 1999 Apr 02 for Friedrich Simon Archenhold (1861-1939) [MPC034340].

Companion discovered 2020 Aug 28 by B. D. Warner, R. D. Stephens, and A. W. Harris using lightcurve observations from Center for Solar System Studies, Landers, California, USA. Announced 2021 Jan [W21f].
