Comments:
Ichikawa Danzabur V was promising tachiyaku actor, who could have been the sixth actor to hold the name of Ichikawa Danz. He unfortunately died too young.
[1] The day of the death of Ichikawa Danzabur V was the 24th of the 10th lunar month of the 14th year of the Tenp era, the 15th of December 1843 in the western calendar, according to both the 6th volume of "Kabuki Nenpy" and the latest edition (2012) of "Kabuki Haiy Meiseki Benran"; in Nojima Jusabur's book "Kabuki Jinmei Jiten", it was recorded as the 8th day of the 3rd lunar month of the 2nd year of the Kka era, the 14th of April 1845 in the western calendar.
[2] In the latest edition (2012) of "Kabuki Haiy Meiseki Benran", this actor was recorded as a holder of the name of Ichikawa Shik. This was not the case in both Nojima Jusabur's book "Kabuki Jinmei Jiten" and the Ritsumeikan University Actors Database. We've decided to stay in line with the "Kabuki Haiy Meiseki Benran".
