Highway Review: OK 39 is an almost 70-mile long east-west state highway that spans from U.S. 62/277/OK 9 east of Chickasha to U.S. 377/OK 99 north of Ada at the same intersection OK 56's southern terminus is located. Heading east from U.S. 62/277/OK 9 the first intersection motorists encounter is at OK 76, ten miles into the highway's route. Two miles east of that intersection one goes through the town of Dibble. The highway continues heading almost completely due east with a few minor curves here and there and intersects U.S. 77 and OK 74 in south Purcell. OK 39 then heads north along U.S. 77 and OK 74 through Purcell before U.S. 77 and OK 39 head to the east. The two highways cross the Canadian River and immediately after the bridge U.S. 77 heads to the north and OK 39 continues east into the town of Lexington. Other than a short duplex with OK 102, there is nothing major for 25 miles between Lexington and U.S. 177. Eleven miles east of U.S. 177 OK 39 travels through Konawa and four miles later the highway finds its end at U.S. 377/OK 3E/99.
