Borne played the character from the beginning in 1992 until Doink turned face in 1994. At Wrestlemania 9 Steve Keirn (known as Skinner to WWF fans) debuted as the second Doink but did not replace Borne. The third Doink was Steve Lombardi (known as Brooklyn Brawler) and replaced Borne when the Doink character became face. At Wrestlemania 10 Ray Licachelli became playing Doink and stayed the character until Doink’s WWF end in 1995.

I know this because at the time I worked on the staff at my college’s arena and we had a WWF house show in January of 1994. Backstage during the show, I had a nice conversation with Ray…just general stuff about being a wrestler, etc. If you have house show results from 1994, the show to which I am referring was held at the Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, SC. Undertaker v. Adam Bomb in a casket match was the main event.

Mr. Anonymous (WWE employee) wrote: The original Doink was Matt Borne….. The 2nd Doink at WrestleMania 9 was Steve Keirn, who continued to be the heel Doink after Matt Borne left the company. The next Doink was Ray Apollo/Ray Licamelli, a friend of Bam Bam Bigelows who used to work indys in the New Jersey area. Finally, the final Doink, who still plays Doink any time they pull Doinks character out of the mothballs for some reason or another, is the Brooklyn Brawler/Steve Lombardi. I don’t remember exactly when Borne left the WWF, so that’s the only query I can’t answer to the best of my knowledge..
