history: Objective C, an extension of C inspired by SmallTalk, was created in 1984 by Brad Cox. Used to write NextStep, the operating system of the NeXt computer.
Because of the merger of NeXT and Apple, Objective C is now a favorite programming language at Apple and is used for such devices as the iPhone and the iPad.
