WEN SHENG BOXING (Sage style) Demonstrators: Wang An-Lin "3rd generation" inheritor. A very unusual style, almost a combination of Tai Chi and breakdancing. |
VCD#740 Basic Routine About 1 Hour, VCD pricing, Chinese Only TouTang MuJia. This is a form taught and broken down a piece at a time. Wen Sheng immediately incorporates internal movement into its regimen. This means there are a lot of subtle torso motions which might escape many viewers. A surprisingly strong style with excellent body movement, the kind all too often left out of contemporary martial studies. |
VCD#741 Scraping Hands Triple VCDs , VCD pricing, Chinese Only KaMo Shou. A great two person regimen that will remind some of Sticky Hands, others of Push Hands and still others of Chin Nah practice. Teacher Wang here displays a series of two person set ups that can be used for practice and for application, of which there are many on this disk. Worth having, especially for teachers. A Triple VCD. |
VCD#742 Nei Gong Double VCDs , VCD pricing, Chinese Only Many, many standing Chi Kung (QiGong) exercises all with martial flavor. Very similar at least on the primary level with the Standing Practice of Yi Quan. Wen Sheng movements are highly consistent. The type of Chi Kung practiced perfectly dovetails with that demonstrated in the forms. In many styles this is less perfectly harmonized. Wen Sheng uses moving (Dong) and still (Qing) methods to rectify Zong Qi, or original Qi. A Double VCD. |
VCD#743 Fundamentals Triple VCDs , VCD pricing, Chinese Only The nice thing about Wen Sheng is that the fundamentals include footwork. This is important for two reasons. First too many people demonstrate standing basics with dead or no leg action. Secondly the footwork of the style is so distinctive that any fundamentals must show the nature of the leg actions. And this disk does. A Triple VCD. |
VCD#744 Second Path Form Triple VCDs , VCD pricing, Chinese Only ErCangJia. A routine composed of very martial movements which are shown with applications and breakdowns throughout the course of the teaching. Wen Sheng demonstrates its peculiar hopping and charging actions which, when applied, are actually pretty good. This series gives a better idea than most of how the methods would look when used in practice. A Triple VCD. |
VCD#745 12 Road Single methods Four VCDs , VCD pricing, Chinese Only Er Shi Lu Dan Ceng Kung Fu. We Sheng is a style that tries to truly blend external and internal. You can see any of these short groups of movement as one and/or all of three branches: Chi Kung, exercise or self defense. Teacher Wang shows them clearly and with many, many applications from the world of self defense. Like the title of another of his VCDs, there seems to be an emphasis on "Scraping Hands" which resemble something like Wing Chun or Xing Yi applications. The 12 methods divide into: 3 palms, 3 hammers, 3 elbows and 3 legs. Good stuff. Four VCDS. |

A longish traditional set.The saber usage here is apparent in every motion. Particular emphasis is shown on Peng energy and Kan, hacking, motions.
