Jimmy Eat World (click here to read how the band named itself), formed in 1993 in Arizona, consists of Jim Adkins on lead vocals and guitar, Tom Linton on guitar, Rick Burch on bass, and Zach Lind on drums. Mitch Porter originally was the band's bass player but left 2 years after its formation. It took the band several years and LP releases before finally finding mainstream success in 2002.
