Prior to forming as a trio, Nick Jonas began in entertainment at the age of 7 appearing on Broadway and several plays: A Christmas Carol (2000), Annie Get Your Gun (2001), Beauty And The Beast (2002), and Les Miserables (2003). Nick had a hit song on Christian radio stations with "Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)" which he co-wrote with his father. During this time, Joe appeared on Broadway in La Boheme. In 2004, Nick released the single "Dear God" and a new recording of "Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)." Attempts to release Nick's solo LP_Nicholas Jonas_ were delayed and eventually led to the formation of the Jonas Brothers after the president of Columbia Records didn't care for the solo LP but liked Nick's voice - especially after hearing him with his 2 brothers. December: The Jonas Brothers released their first single "Mandy." April 4: The Jonas Brothers could be heard on the Disneymania, Vol. 4 compilation with the track "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life For Me)" August 8: The Jonas Brothers released It's About Time after many delays for its release. The LP was released as a limited release with little promotion. February: After being dropped by Columbia Records, the Jonas Brothers signed with Hollywood Records.
