[1] Malaysia lost 5-6 on penalty kicks. [2] Syria used a Syria Invitational Team, while Malaysia use their SEA Games U-23 team and only called up 1 senior player (Norhafiz Zamani) in this match. [3] The match was played as a training game after an agreement with both FAs and the head coaches after the Iraq FA and Malaysian FA (FAM) had not informed FIFA in time for the world governing body to authorise the match as international full A. The coaches agreed to have open substitutions. There were only three match officials supervising the game. Twenty-two players were used, the third most in any international game! [4] The match was against Saudi Arabia A League but both agreed to use more than six substitutions, which is why FIFA revoked the A status. [5] FIFA revoked it because one of the referees was not FIFA affiliated due to a mistake made by New Caledonia FA. FAM try to appeal and make it recognized by FIFA to improve their ranking in 2016. But FIFA reject FAM appeal. There is no news after that and this match is not included in FIFA ranking calculation. [6] It was a training match where both teams were free to use more substitutes. FIFA revoked the status of A match.
