Winfield Challenge Shield 1988
In recognition of the Auckland Football Association's centenary celebrations, the Winfield company donated the Winfield Shield in 1987 for inter-association competition. Auckland, as inaugural holder, accepted five challenges during the 1988 season, successfully repulsing four before bowing to Otago.
