Champions of the Tournament of Departmental Selections of the North (1926-1967 and 1991) and the Northeast (1968-1990) Confederations

The Confederation of the North is one of the 4 constituting O.F.I., which organizes football outside Montevideo. It was originally formed by Rivera, Tacuaremb� and Paso de los Toros.�During the period that Cerro Largo participated in the tournament (from 1968 to 1990), the confederation was denominated Northeast Confederation.

With North Confederation's breakup in 1991, Rivera and Tacuaremb� entered to the Coastal Confederation and Paso de los Toros entered to the South Confederation. After a break of more than a decade, the competition was resurrected in 2004 as Confederaci�n del Litoral Norte.
