Precompiled Binaries

Precompiled binaries are available for convenience, but we recommend the source version (below) for most users

<Linux-metal.tar.gz> For Linux systems
<Darwin-metal.tar.gz> For Apple computers
<Windows-metal.zip> For Windows systems

Example Files

This archive includes a small example of how METAL can be used to meta-analyze study results. The example is drawn from a recent study of the genetics of glucose levels (Chen et al, Journal of Clinical Investigation, 2008; Prokopenko et al, Nature Genetics, 2009).

[GlucoseExample-original.tar.gz [original]](GlucoseExample-original.tar.gz)

Source Distribution

This download includes a command line version of the METAL meta-analysis tool and should work for all users with access to the GNU C++ compiler, which is standard on most Linux, Unix and Apple systems. For Windows workstations, the GNU C++ compiler is available with CYGWIN or MSYS. To install, unpack the archive below, type make and follow instructions. Have fun!
