Michael Giles

born 1942 developed strong interest in drums while at school and from the age of 16 played and toured with many bands until the formation of Giles, Giles and Fripp in 1967.

formed King Crimson with Robert Fripp in 1968 and recorded 'In the Court of the Crimson King' and 'In the Wake of Poseidon'.

left in 1970 to record 'McDonald and Giles' album.

from 1971 became experienced session musician making numerous records with: Stevie Winwood, Zoot Money, The Scaffold, Grimms, Leo Sayer, Neil Sedaka, Jack Jones, Murray Head, Catherine Howe, Francis Monkman, Simon Jeffes, Andy Summers, Yvonne Elliman, Adrian Henri, Kevin Ayres, Rupert Hine, B.A. Robertson, Pete Sinfield, Pip Williams, George Martin, Roger Chapman, Anthony Phillips, Greg Lake, Bryan Ferry and Michael Nyman.
