Subject: Rowell Neon Boot
Hello, Your magazine has one of the only photos online of my dad's neon boot sign. You have it listed as "Powell's" but it should read Rowell's Boot and Shoe Repair.
This sign was made by Evan Voyles of the Neon Jungle. He was a close friend to my Dad, Steve Martin, who owned Rowell's for many years. Evan makes some of the best neon in Austin and you have a lot of it on your website.
My dad passed in 2018. Steven Craig Martin. The neon boot went missing in Briggs from a family friend's barn. My dad was keeping it in their barn because it was huge. He had planned to put it up in his shop once he and my mom moved to a larger home and he could have a shop outside for tinkering. He wanted it to light up the whole yard. He died suddenly from a heart attack. Anyway, if you want to add a little blurb about finding the sign and my email address, or Evan's, that would be great. We would love to have it back and wouldn't ask any questions. Evan knows how to move these signs and helped my Dad put it in the barn. - Thanks, Sarah Martin, April 4, 2024
