September 11th Memorial, Austin, Texas

One of most recent additions to the Texas State Cemetery is a simple understated memorial dedicated to those who died in New York, Pennsyvania and Washington D.C. on the morning of September 11, 2001. The memorial consists of a wall of Texas granite enclosing two iron girders salvaged from the wreckage of the World Trade Center.

After entering the main gate of the cemetery the memorial is about 150 yards directly in front of you across the pool.

The Memorial was dedicated on September 11, 2003.
