Heman Marion Sweatt

"In October of 2005, the Travis County Courthouse was renamed in honor of Heman Marion Sweatt. Sweatt sued the University of Texas in 1946 for denying him admission to the U.T. Law School because he was Black. This marker is displayed at the East side entrance to the courthouse." - Terry Jeanson, December, 2007 photo
