Sept 27, 1835 Lt. Francisco de Castaneda is ordered to take back a cannonloaned to the settlers at Gonzales. Rather than surrender the cannonto the Mexicans, the colonists fired the cannonat the contingent on Oct. 2, and yelled "COME AND TAKE IT"!
