History in a Patented Medicine Bottle
Nicknamed Peruna or Perunie after a patented medicine high in alcohol content.
Cave Creek had a post office for four months in 1899, but it never officially opened. A school was in session in 1904 with one teacher teaching 29 students. It later consolidated with White Hall school in 1929.
Cave Creek no longer appears on TxDOT maps.
Cave Creek, Texas Forum
Further down FM 215 take a right on to CR247. This community had a store, gin and Cave Creek school. My uncles burned the school house down by stuffing broom weed up the flue before lighting the fire. It was roughly where James Crow's place is now (look for solos on left side of road.) - Jim Compton, June 25, 2018
