Dog Ridge, Texas. (original) (raw)

History in a Pecan Shell

The name is said to have originated during the Mexican invasion / War of Independence when settlers reported packs of wild dogs in the area.

Very little history is available but the community had no growth to speak of until the second half of the 20th Century when Stillhouse Hollow Lake was constructed. The population since the late 1960s was reported as 125.
