Fairlie, Texas, Hunt County. (original) (raw)

History in a Pecan Shell
Fairlee Webster is the towns namesake although history is scarce on why he (or she) was so honored. The town had enough people in 1892 to request a post office and by 1904, the town peaked with 248 residents.
The post office remained open through the late 1980s and population figures are unavailable from the 1930s through the mid 1960s when it reported 80 residents. That figure remained in use through the 2000 census.
