History on a PinheadSettled in 1873 by Mississippians looking for better opportunities after the Civil War, the community didn't get a post office until 1900. It relocated four years later to Frost, Texas.

The community never developed fully although it did have a school and church. The population was given as 20 residents from the 1930s through the late 1960s.
