Senate, Texas, Jack County. (original) (raw)

History in a Pecan Shell
Settlement began as early as the 1850s but growth was interrupted by the Civil War and Indian misbehavior. As a result, it wasnt until the 1880s when settlement was resumed. A post office was granted in 1894 and eight years later the Chicago, Rock Island and Gulf Railroad reached Senate.
In 1930 Senate was still under-populated with only 25 Senators present. It remains a quiet place in 2000, but no population figures are available.
