History in a Pecan Shell
The Styx post office was open from 1899 until 1908. No explanation is given for the name. Information on the the naming of the community or history and development is unavailable. The population was a mere 66 persons in 1900. The Great Depression reduced the population to only 25. The last recorded population was from 1966 when it reported 80 residents.
