History on a Pinhead The community once had its own post office from 1898 to 1921, but prior to that, information is scant. The Handbook of Texas only mentions twenty-odd farms in the area. Hickston remains on the detailed TxDoT Gonzales County map.
Mr. Gibsons photographs show the extent of the community today.
Photographer's Note:
Hickston is/was 12 miles NE of Gonzales near the end of FM 2814. This church is Hickston. -
