History on a Pinhead

The town was named after Mona Singletary, daughter of the local storekeeper / postmaster in 1886. The post office closed in 1913, leaving little more than a school (shown below) and a cotton gin. First available population figures are only from 1941 when an estimated 75 people were lived here. In 2008 the town has a single business � a convenience store/ gas station.

The Monaville Cemetery is located at Holik and Kerr Roads in west Monaville.
