History on a Pinhead
Don't bother looking for any 19th Century history. This highway town "appeared" sometime in the 1980s. It is said that the name may have come from a nearby petting zoo of the same name. The Wyldwood Baptist Church appears to be the only noncommercial building visible from the highway. Signage seems to be a way of life in the community - and signs probably outnumber residents. Even the traditional green highway signs designating the place don't agree - so don't place any bets on the spelling. Our money is on the church sign.

This old fuel truck has been in place before the town was designated
