How to get rid of warts
- When I was about 10, I had several warts on my thigh. My mother taped a piece of lemon with rind attached. It seems to me this lasted for about a week. Being impatient, I remember peeking at it a lot. The warts started turning black and little by little fell off. The lemon bit was probably changed daily; I don't recall. I did not have any warts until recently ( I am now over 50) and intend to try this again.God Bless - JM Plisky, January 21, 2006
Now that thanksgiving is over use the leftover cranberry and rub in on the warts. Repeat every so often. You will see improvement after two weeks. It may even go away. - John H, November 29, 2004
Boil one whole garlic in water and drink one cup of it do this for fifteen days and your warts will be gone. - Maria Garcia, July 12, 2005
Being raised on a farm in rural Georgia by grand parents who were born in the late 1890s I was subjected to all kinds of country cures. The only doctor my grand parents saw was an Herb Doctor by the name of Jeddy (from the mountains of North Carolina) who made house calls every 2-3 months selling her potions. She claimed to be able to cure every ailment or disease except for cancer. A fast and painless remedy to remove warts was to rub a smooth stone taken from the branch (creek) over the wart, place the stone in a box, wrap the box in paper, and place the box in the fork of a road. The next passer-by who saw the box and opened it would then receive a gift your wart. My dad remembers his warts being removed on several occasions by my grand-maw using this remedy. Its worth a try.
P.S. The old-timers used newspaper or the Sears catalog to wrap their box in (when outhouse demand was low). I suggest pretty wrapping paper, maybe even a bow or ribbon to entice someone. - Wayne Dyer, Covington, GA, June 21, 2006I'm not sure exactly why this worked, it's not medical at all. But someone once suggested to me that a wart would fall off if I stole a dish towel from someone and then threw/left it in the woods. I tried this and after a week or two the wart went away. - N.
