History on a Pinhead

Originally called Anti, Texas, the community grew around a church that was established in 1856.

Its first post office was granted in 1888 but that one was closed the next year. By 1901 it has reopened the post office but then in 1904 it was discontinued for good.

Growth eluded Anti (or Antioch) and during the height of the Great Depression it only had a church, cemetery and scattered dwelling with no town center.

The first population estimate appears in 1983 when twenty-nine people were reported. That figure was used for the 1990 census as well, but by 2000, the community had grown to 45 residents.
