History in a Pecan Shell

Settled as early as the 1850s growth was extremely slow. No population figures are available. The town suffered no major disasters and things have remained quiet in this corner of Texas. As early as 1983 Gum Springs was a ghost town candidate, with only a singular church and cemetery.
