Iris, Texas. (original) (raw)

History in a Pinecone

Settled around the time of the Civil War, the town had a school sometime around 1887, and a post office around 1900 which closed in 1912.

The Diboll Lumber Company operated two lumber camps nearby. The town suffered the fate of many logging communities in East Texas.
