Crown Cafe Jacksonville Texas old photos. (original) (raw)
Subject: Crown Cafe & Family Photos
My name is Justin Hunt and I live with my family in Jacksonville, Texas. After my grandmother (Margaret Warren Hunt) passed away I received a lot of family pictures, etc. As a child history always interested me and she would tell me lots of stories. When I came across your magazine (which is awesome by the way), I thought I would like to share some of my family history [with your readers].

The photos are of a Cafe my great-grandparents (Joseph Bailey Warren and Oleta Sides Warren) used to own and run during the early to mid 50's. The name was the Crown Cafe and it was open 24 hours a day. The Crown was said to have had the best chicken-fried steaks in town. The builiding was torn down a few years ago but for many years you could still see the painted "Open 24 hours" sign on the window that my great-grandfather had put there so many years before.
