"In the late 1800's and 1900's my house served as a prison house. It was owned by the State of Texas and prisoners were housed there to farm the land, chop timber and load on the train to go to the Rusk Penitentiary for their furnace. There is a lot of history within it's walls.

The house is on almost 15 acres of land now and some of the jail bars are still on the old windows. At the time the railroad ran through our property and we have found many old rail road spikes around. The old rail road trestle is still there. Here are photo's of house today and jail bars on old windows." - Brenda Davis, Rusk, Texas
