Angelita Ybarra-Reyna born September 23, 1921 in Mercedes, Texas, to Guadalupe Cadena-Ybarra and Isidro Ybarra

It is with both great sadness and joy we report that our mother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 surrounded by some family members.

The obvious sadness comes from losing your mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. The joy comes from knowing that her mind and body has been gloriously restored and is now in heaven where we will all see her again someday.

Angelita is preceded in death by her parents, husband Severo Reyna, an infant daughter who died at birth Leticia Reyna, her bother (WWII Veteran) Jose Ybarra.

Mrs. Reyna is survived by her children Raul Reyna, Ruben Reyna, Angelica Reyna-Bland, Guadalupe R-Soto, Alicia R-Hinojosa, Severo Reyna Jr., Zoyla Reyna, Belinda R-Gonzales, sister Hermina Ybarra-Flores, 29 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, several nephews and nieces.

We were migrant workers while growing up but that did not stop our mama from maintaining a normal home environment for our family. Her children were well behaved, well groomed. She taught us to respect our brothers and sisters and to love each other unconditionally. After more than half a century later these same siblings get together as if time stood still with the same love and respect for each other as they reminisce "the good old days."

Our mama Angelita's first priorities were her children. She was 93 years old and she still worried about "what is going to happen to my children when I'm gone?"

Our family feels blessed to have had our mother these many years.
