To childproof a poem
read the directions
take out all the forbidden words
take out any praise of our past
take out any dangerous material
take out any hidden meaning
now set the poem nicely on a high shelf
and screw down the cap
you should be set to go
your poem is now sanitized and
ready for consumption
but like any child-proof item
the poem will not open
unless you align with the censors
free speech is no longer free.
