Finding Its Way. (original) (raw)

A baby lizard lives with me
slithering silent in the night,
sometimes it runs underfoot
even in broad daylight

I try my best to avoid it
with comic skips and hops,
that lizard is too smart for me
at my age, Fast I'm not

No bigger than a pinto bean
lord knows just where it stays,
when I try to catch the thing
it quickly runs away

Just now, was that its shadow?
or just a piece of lint,
guess it'll find its way out of here
like it found its own way in.
