A Nest Of Baby Birds. (original) (raw)

We are
a nest of baby birds

demanding to be fed
chirping shrilly
ever louder

all we know is
that by demanding
we get free food

our appetites increase
as does our size

we do not know
or care
who provides the food
or where it comes from

all we know is that
by chirping we get more

we deserve it
we think

there's always more
for those of us

who do not wish
to fly.
