Christmas came to our house
with a tree of dazzling lights

it turned the house into a joyful scene

illuminated us with pure delight

my wife had spent most of the day
decorating room by room

like a flower that bloomed overnight
each beautifully festooned

but then I got to wondering
was it the lights as I assumed

or was it in fact my wife herself
that brightened up the room.
