Caada Verde, Texas, Wilson County. (original) (raw)

History in a Pecan Shell
Caada Verde was settled in the 1860s and it seems nothing noteworthy happened for sometime. No population figures are available for the 19th century or the 20th, either. It seems to have peaked during the Great Depression when the town had three stores, a church and school. After WWII, the school was consolidated with Floresville but the town holds on to its own identity.
Photographer's Note:
Not much here. There are several modern homes in the area, but if there was anything left of the original town, then they all look like these dilapidated buildings. - Terry Jeanson, March, 2008
