History in a Pecan Shell

The community was founded on the 10,500-acre John Quincy ranch. After being purchased in 1891, development began and a post office was requested and granted.

Acreage was sold to settlers recruited from Kansas and other states.

A one-teacher school in 1898-99 taught only 13 pupils.

Under-development and a lack of settlers spelled oblivion, and so the settlement was sold to a San Antonio business called the Bee County Irrigation Syndicate. They tried to recruit new settlers, but were unsuccessful and what few buildings comprised the town either burned down or fell in. According to the Handbook of Texas even into the early 1970s the former townsite was referred to as "Little Quincy."

The only thing appearing near the former site is a cemetery marked as Lost Boy Monument on TxDoT Bee County maps.
