The Dunes

"The National Park Service calls these 'The Dunes.' Good enough for me. One needs to get a key and directions from Park Headquarters located on US 180 near Signal Peak.

From HQ, there is a drive of about 60 miles to the parking lot, about 12 miles east of Dell City. There is a hike of about one mile. A lot of it is without trails and in dry sandy soil. Our weather was perfect at about 70 degrees and no wind." -
