Inks Lake Bridge Colorado River Texas. (original) (raw)

The Colorado River (Inks Lake) Bridge is on old State Highway 29 and was closed to vehicular traffic upon completion of the new parrallel bridge which can be seen along side the old truss bridge in both photos.
Both bridges: SH 16 over Llano River (Roy Inks Bridge) and SH 29 over Colorado River below Buchanan Dam were built by Austin Bridge Company in the 1930's. I obtained this information from personal visits to both sites and my knowledge of company history and photos of Austin Bridge Company. - Donald L. Towles, P.E.
