History in a Pecan Shell
In the mid 1840s a transplanted Missouri farmer named Williams Warden came to Texas and was awarded a 640 acre Peters Colony land grant.
It wasnt until the mid 1890s that the community came together with a church, school, store. Commercial enterprises included a grain elevator and two cotton gins. By the middle of that decade the community had added a hotel and more importantly, a post office.
In 1901 the mail was routed through Farmersville and the Climax post office was closed.
The 2000 census counted 40 people the same number that has been given for the previous 60 years.

Subject: Climax TX general store
I noticed you had a picture of the old General store from Climax. We just purchased the property... We plan to restore and reopen the store very soon. - Dwain Carter, November 12, 2004
