History on a Pinhead
Established in the 1850s, Rush Creek reached it's peak just after the Civil War. From 1858 to 1871, the community had its own post office. Its decline is attributed to the (relative) success of the too-close town of Wadeville.
Rush Creek was abandoned by the mid-1870s.
