History in a Pecan Shell

When the Danciger Oil and Refining Company opened their Pledger Dome gas field in 1933, the town came into being and the following year a post office was granted. By the end of that decade, the community reported 150 residents supported by two businesses.

From the 1970s through 1990, Danciger�s population was reported at 314 people. It has since increased to 357 (the 2000 census).
